This year's new ornaments (shown below) are a tad bit more time consuming than in the past, but I can assure you you'll love these as much as the ones Kennedy has made in the past.

As a parent it has been great to see our girls (now 9 and 7) working on ornaments together this year. They don't always get along - like most siblings - but they are coming together to help other kids and it warms the heart to see them sharing it with each other.

We had a hiccup loading this year's order form last night, hope to have it up and running today. Thanks for your patience. Kennedy has started making her new ornaments this year in preparation for this year's sales. If any one has businesses in the Peterborough area willing to sell some, or even purchase some for decorating your business. Please let us know.
We live in such a fabulous community, and the Pedal for Hope Team is absolutely one of the best groups of people we've had the opportunity to work with through Kennedy's Wind Wishes. They have raised over $3,000,000 for Paediatric Cancer Research and the work they have sponsored is helping children across Canada.
Kennedy is now collecting donations and pledges for the annual Pedal for Hope event at her school, all funds. Please consider donating this year. Kennedy made a surprise visit to the Peterborough Canadian Cancer Society today to drop off this year's proceeds to the Pedal for Hope Team. A special thank you to X-Design Inc. this year for the wonderful donation.
A few days from christmas and all through our house,
Are pieces of plastic canvas smaller than a mouse. Our stockings are hung on the staircase with care, With Wind Wish's ornaments sparkling there. Kennedy is nestled all snug in her bed, While visions of icicles dance in her head. Her sister is sleeping wearing her cap, Dad and the puppy settle down for a nap. When all I can think of is how thankful we are, For all the support from near and a far. It all started with our daughter's dream, Yet so many others are now on her Wind Wishes team. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow, Is just one thing we take for granted as we all grow. All of our children should have the chance to see, Every sunrise and sunset to eternity. For all children fighting cancer and feeling sick, We wish for you good health and the spirit of St. Nick. May new research and love bring a cure for your cancer. May Wind Wishes help them find the right answer. As we come to the end of this year's campaign, Know that your wishes are never in vain. Wishes will allow your dreams to take flight. "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night! I can not say enough how great Kennedy's school community has been over the past three years in supporting her Wind Wishes. Friday during one single recess Kennedy (with the help of two classmates) was able to sell 111 more ornaments, bringing her past the 500 ornament mark and well on her way to reaching her goal this year.
Thank you so much everyone for your continued support! Paediatirc cancer is diagnosed in 1500 children in Canada every year. Over 10,000 children are living with cancer right now in Canada. We can't make cancer melt away like icicles, but we can build on our daughter's wish and continue the fight by helping to fund life saving research and by helping to grant wishes to children coping with cancer. Spread the message this Christmas by sharing some of our daughter's homemade ornaments with your friends and loved ones. Today, there are more than 10,000 children living and coping with various forms of paediatric cancer in Canada. This year another 1500 will be diagnosed with cancer across Canada. Research and newer treatments have made significant strides in ensuring that many of these children will live long and wonderful lives - but many will be taken from their families far too soon.
Kennedy wants this to change, and as her mom, so do I. She has always been a quiet little girl with a heart bigger than a mountain. We have taught her that anyone can make a difference in the world if they whole heartedly try. Big changes can come in small packages - share our wish and help Wind Wishes make a difference again this year by ordering your wind spinner or icicle ornaments. They make great gifts and present toppers at this time of year. |
