Both Kennedy and her sister were presented with Pedal for Hope medals.
This represents 1/2 of the proceeds from her sales of wind spinners this fall. We will soon be making a second presentation to Children's Wish Foundation for the other 1/2.

A special thank you tonight to the 10th Peterborough Sparks Unit, our daughter had shared her craft with her leaders some time ago and tonight the Unit all learned how to make spinners, providing a few for the wind wishes campaign as well. So nice to see these kids helping each other out and doing something fun at the same time!
Bank of Montreal sold out of spinners in one day! We'll let you know when we've dropped off more for them. Thanks everyone!!
We are pleased to announce that starting Thursday December 6, the Bank of Montreal at Portage Place (1154 Chemong Road) will have wind spinners on hand in support of Wind Wishes for the holiday season. Please feel free to stop in at BMO and purchase your very own wind spinner! A huge thanks to Mary Stanton and the other staff of BMO for supporting our daughters campaign. 16,800 plastic strips, 350 pipe cleaners, and 2,800 beads later, time has come for us to announce the final deadline for wind spinner orders this year. As of Monday December 3rd, at midnight, we will cut off orders for this year's wind spinners.
Good news is that we are working with a couple of local businesses that wanted to selll the spinners over the holidays and once we have this set up we will be delivering the final spinners there so folks can purchase them locally here in Peterborough for the holidays. For those of you waiting for orders, the orders in to date are almost complete and we will be in contact later this weekend to arrange pick-up. Again, thank you so much for all your support of our daughter this year! Sunday was pick-up day at our house for a number of orders. We have reached 600 wind spinners in orders with over 450 already made and getting ready to be delivered, sent or picked up to go to their new homes. Please remember to send us photos of your spinners, on presents, with your family or even the family pet so we can share your wind wish Orders have been coming in pretty steadily since the Peterborough This Week article on Friday. Needless to say it has become a true family activity, even the family dog has taken up interest. We want to thank you for your support of our daughter's campaign. We had no idea it would touch so many people the way it has. We are so proud of our little girl. She now has over 450 wind spinner ordered and about 60% are already made and delivered. Please continue to share this campaign with others. Thanks to some new friends in North Bay, the Wind Wishes campaign has been expanded to the North Bay area. Two sisters, 6 and 9, have decided they can help make a difference too! Starting this week they will begin to make their wind spinners and sell them to family and friends in support of our campaign! Thank you girls!!! |
